Taco Mozzarella Sticks

Makes: 16

3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons flour
8 ounces mozzarella string cheese, cut in half crosswise
1 egg
3 cups cheesy tortilla chips, crushed
1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix
3/4 cup oil
1/3 cup warmed taco sauce

Line 15x10 inch pan with waxed paper. Place milk and flour in seperate shallow bowls. Dip each piece of cheese in milk, then in flour. Beat egg into remaining milk mixture with fork. In shallow bowl, mix chips and seasoning together. Dip coated sticks into egg mixture then coat with chip mixture. Place on prepared pan and freeze at least 30 minutes but not longer than 8 hours. In 12 inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat to 375°F. Cook frozen cheese sticks in oil 1-2 minutes per side, gently turning once or twice till light golden brown and cheese is warm. Do not overcook or cheese will melt. Serve immediately with warmed taco sauce.
