2/3 cup sliced almonds
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
7 ounces almond paste
1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1/4 cup orange juice
Heat oven to 325°F. Grease 9 inch round pan. Press almonds onto sides and bottom of prepared pan. Combine flour, baking powder and zest. Beat together almond paste, butter and sugar for 4 minutes. Add eggs. Add juice. Add dry ingredients. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 50 minutes.
