1/2 cup softened margarine
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon coconut extract
1 package (18.25 ounce) German chocolate cake mix
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup mini baking M&Ms

Heat oven to 325°F. Grease baking sheets. Cream together margarine, shortening and sugar till light and fluffy. Stir in egg, water and extract. Beat in cake mix till well blended. Stir in oats and M&Ms. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto prepared sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes till set. Cool 5 minutes on sheets before removing to rack to cool completely.
