1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups half-and-half
1 tablespoon fresh minced rosemary
OR
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1 minced clove garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/8 inch thick slices
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9x13 inch baking dish. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour till smooth. Gradually add cream. Bring to boil. Cook and stir 2 minutes till thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in seasonings and potatoes. Transfer to prepared dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer till potatoes are tender.

Very tasty, even with dried rosemary.
