Mashed Potatoes & Carrots

4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
6 large carrots, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
2-3 peeled cloves garlic
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
salt and pepper to taste

Place potatoes, carrots and garlic in saucepan. Cover with water. Bring to boil. Cover and reduce heat. Cook 20-25 minutes till tender. Drain. Mash cooked vegetables together. Beat in milk, butter, salt and pepper till light and fluffy.
