Grilled Smoky Cheddar Potatoes

6 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into 1 inch chunks
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons bacon bits

Prepare grill for medium heat. Place potatoes on 30x18 inch piece of foil. Sprinkle with salt and dot with butter. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon bits. Wrap foil tightly around potatoes. Pierce top once or twice with fork to vent steam. Cover and grill foil packet, seam and vents up, 4-6 inches from heat 45-60 minutes till potatoes are tender.
