2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 1/2 pounds boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into 2x3/4x1/4 inch pieces
6 1/2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup ketchup
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 cup uncooked medium egg noodles
8 ounces sour cream
Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook onion, garlic and mushrooms in butter 5-6 minutes, stirring frequently till mushrooms are softened. Stir in beef. Cook 5-6 minutes, stirring frequently till beef is no longer pink. Stir in remaining ingredients except noodles and sour cream. Heat to boiling, reduce to medium-low. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in noodles. Cover and cook 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, till noodles are tender. Stir in sour cream, cook 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, till well blended.
